Our Story

Some people walk past a problem. Jill Hattan runs toward it – sometimes literally.

In 2015, Jill moved to Andover and started running on the Redbud Trail. The more time she spent on the trail, the more surprised she was by how few Wichitans knew about its existence, even despite the Redbud’s beauty and history. She noticed there wasn’t much to do along the trail – no places to stop or activities along the way – and couldn’t help but wonder if that was why the trail didn’t get the buzz it deserved.

If you know Jill, you know she doesn’t sit still when she sees an opportunity to improve her community. She accepts the challenge head-on. That’s how Point Nine was born.

At first, the idea was simple: maybe an ice cream or coffee shop near the trail. But as time went on, the vision grew. Jill saw a deeper need, not just for a trail stop, but for a welcoming, healthy, local restaurant. A place where trail-goers, families, cyclists, and food lovers could gather and recharge. A place built for community. Point Nine is our answer to that need.

Located right on the Redbud Trail at the corner of Harrison St. and Andover Road, Point Nine is a trailside eatery designed for people who love good food and the outdoors. Our menu features fresh, nourishing meals, unforgettable brunches, and handcrafted cocktails. The expansive indoor/outdoor space features a large dog-friendly patio with yard games, live music, and firepits.

Point Nine is more than a restaurant. It’s a celebration of special moments, of community, of asking “what if?” and chasing the answer with your whole heart.

We hope you’ll stop by—whether you’re mid-run, out with friends, or just looking for a fresh way to enjoy the day.
